Olympic Lifting goes all the way back to Ancient Greece, but it was also developed in Egypt, China, and India. So it’s what people think of when they think of Classic Weightlifting. Olympic Weightlifting is not a beginner level activity. Most people are drawn to it as they evolve their weightlifting routines and goals. Some look to this type of training in hopes of competing, while others use it as a tool to get explosive growth and strength.

Olympic Lifting looks really cool when it’s been practiced and goes well. But most of us have seen workout fail videos of people that tried an Olympic lift and it went horribly wrong. This can result in anything from a damaged ego to a hospital visit. The difference is in the training you do and the coaching you receive.

Training Makes The Difference

At The Strong Hold, we don’t currently offer this specific type of training, however we have all of the necessary equipment for you to work with your private trainer in our facility. A coach that specializes in Olympic Lifting will work with you to break down all the steps necessary to executing the 6 main Olympic lifts. You should focus on steps like mastering the hip “pop” which is critical to your success on lifts like the power clean. Trainers work with clients to perfect the motions before starting to increase resistance. Our in-house trainers can help you to strength train in order to build that confidence and achieve your goal of winning competitions.
